"To get back into management is something that I've been looking to do ever since I left York City a couple of years ago now," Blissett told skysports.com.
"It would be nice to think I can do something to save the club from the predicament they're in and make sure they stay up.
"The position they're in now is they're looking for a manager. Whatever little I can do to help, the better.
"That's the only way I'm looking at it from my point of view.
"All you can do is put your name forward and you hope they respond in a positive light to you.
"That's the least you can hope for."
