Watford chairman, Graham Simpson has cooled increasing media speculation linking popular manager, Aidy Boothroyd with a number of other managerial vacancies.
The Bradford born boss has been a revelation throughout his first full season in charge of the Golden Boys, steering them to a third place finish during the regular campaign, and now a place in next Sunday's Coca-Cola Championship Play-off Final against Kevin Blackwell's Leeds United.
And although Boothroyd has made no secret of his desire to manage at the top level, Simpson was unconcerned as to the manager's immediate future when speaking to BBC Radio's Five Live Sportsweek programme this morning (Sunday).
“He wants to build something at Watford.
He is an exceptional man and recently signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.
Adrian is a man of his word. I do not believe he will suddenly move elsewhere.
He needs the experience and he needs to learn.
We are a very progressive club and are building on and off the field. There is no reason why Watford cannot grow and grow."
Simpson also remained confident of potential play-off glory by adding,
"Leeds' wage bill is three times above us. We are a very young team punching above its weight.
But we have a very good manager and are very focused."
