Boothroyd's Carlisle hope

Watford boss, Aidy Boothroyd has revealed that whole hearted defender Clarke Carlisle should be fit for the play-offs which commence in just eleven days time.

The former Queens Park Rangers defender pulled up lame in the first half on his return to Loftus Road on Saturday, and at first glance the injury looked serious, but the manager is not overly concerned,

"Clarke is okay but it is early days yet,"

"We'll have to have a look at him and we can assess things from then on in.

"We got him off as quick as we could and we'll hopefully get him right for the play-offs."

The 26-year-old Carlisle has only recently regained a place in the starting eleven, lining up alongside Malky Mackay in the centre of defence with American, Jay DeMerit switching to the left back berth.
