Burnley V Watford at Turf Moor - Match Preview

Ings worry for Dyche

England Under-21 international Danny Ings is a serious doubt for Burnley's home clash with Watford.

The striker has scored 17 goals already for club and country but picked up an ankle knock in the defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday.

That loss, only the Clarets' second of the Sky Bet Championship campaign, saw them usurped by Leicester at the summit and came at a further cost with Michael Duff's late dismissal meaning he now serves a one-game ban.

Boss Sean Dyche is unlikely to risk midfielder Dean Marney (thigh) against his former club while winger Ross Wallace (knee) is still out.

Josh McEachran, Manuel Almunia and Gabriele Angella remain doubts for out-of-sorts Watford.

On-loan midfielder McEachran, goalkeeper Almunia (both illness) and defender Angella (thigh) all missed Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Yeovil.

Lloyd Doyley (hamstring), Essaid Belkalem (ankle), Ikechi Anya (calf) and Tommie Hoban (ankle) all continue to miss out, while the game also comes too soon for Almen Abdi as he bids to make his return from a long-term foot injury.

The pressure is certainly mounting on manager Gianfranco Zola following six games without a win and former Hornets boss Dyche could inflict further misery.
