Every Premier League team's player of the weekend: Gameweek 31

The Premier League bounced back from the March international break at the weekend with no end of action or drama up and down the division.

Manchester City won again, but so did Liverpool to keep the title race firmly alive. Tottenham also won by a handsome score-line to strengthen their Champions League claim, while it was more disappointment for Manchester United.

Everton lost again and continue to look nervously over their shoulder but weren't punished by the teams below them on this occasion.

Here's a look at every Premier League club's best player from gameweek 31...

Arsenal - Eddie Nketiah (6/10) vs Crystal Palace

What we said: "Struck the woodwork with a long-distance strike."

Aston Villa - Emiliano Buendia (6/10) vs Wolves

What we said: "Villa's best player and he only managed 15 minutes."

Brentford - Vitaly Janelt (9/10) vs Chelsea

What we said: "What a strike! Put his foot through the ball to leather Brentford onto terms. Brilliant late run and dinked finish to give the Bees an incredible two-goal advantage."

Brighton - Alexis Mac Allister (7/10) vs Norwich

What we said: "Sent a few shots from distance just wide of the goal. Brought a good save from Krul from distance. Probably the Seagulls' biggest threat."

Burnley - Aaron Lennon (6/10) vs Man City

What we said: "Burnley's brightest outlet on the rare occasions he was provided with possession in City's half."

Chelsea - N'Golo Kante (6/10) vs Brentford

What we said: "Industrious as ever and had a lot of forward thrust. Unexpected assist for Rudiger before being sacrificed for a more attacking option."

Crystal Palace - Wilfried Zaha (9/10) vs Arsenal

What we said: "One of the Premier League's best in transition, and he showed his devastating talent once again. Made no mistake from the spot."

Everton - Mason Holgate (6/10) vs West Ham

What we said: "Drafted into the team after Donny van de Beek pulled out in the warm up. Gave away the free kick that led to the opener but made up for that with a goal. Moved into defence when Keane was sent off, which capped off a very eventful afternoon. He coped admirably."

Leeds - Liam Cooper (7/10) vs Southampton

What we said: "Good return for the Leeds captain. Led by example."

Leicester - Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (7/10) vs Man Utd

What we said: "A nice engine in midfield. Did his best to bring the spark this match desperately needed."

Liverpool - Thiago Alcantara (8/10) vs Watford

What we said: "Technically excellent, dictating tempo from deep and playing a number of fizzing, accurate passes. Top drawer performer."

Man City - Kevin de Bruyne (8/10) vs Burnley

What we said: "As well as charging into the box to score, De Bruyne was involved in every third of the pitch to lubricate City's progression towards goal."

Man Utd - Fred (7/10) vs Leicester

What we said: "Put in an absolute shift and looked as likely as anyone to make something happen. Took his goal well."

Newcastle - Fabian Schar (5/10) vs Tottenham

What we said: "A monster first half saw the Swiss pick out the far corner with a wonderful strike."

Norwich - Grant Hanley (7/10) vs Brighton

What we said: "Won a good number of defensive duels in the air. Led by example as Brighton huffed and puffed in front of goal."

Southampton - James Ward-Prowse (8/10) vs Leeds

What we said: "Outstanding technique, beautiful passing. The class act on show at Elland Road."

Tottenham - Harry Kane (9/10) vs Newcastle

What we said: "Played as though he was unfit in the first half, but that definitely was not the case in the second. His superb contributions outside of the box saw Spurs run away with the lead."

Watford - Hassane Kamara (7/10) vs Liverpool

What we said: "Did exceptionally well to keep Salah quiet, nullifying the threat of the Premier League's most feared marksman."

West Ham - Jarrod Bowen (7/10) vs Everton

What we said: "Had to lift the ball over Mykolenko to score, and did so brilliantly. The game winner."

Wolves - Joao Moutinho (8/10) vs Aston Villa

What we said: "Absolutely ran the show in the absence of Ruben Neves. So classy in possession."
