Watford Football Club has confirmed late this afternoon (Wednesday) that flying wing man, Albert Jarrett has joined the staff on a one-year contract.

The 21-year-old has been trialling at Vicarage Road throughout pre-season and has done sufficiently well enough to convince manager, Aidy Boothroyd that he is worth a permanent deal.

The London born player arrives on a free transfer as he was out of contract with the Seagulls, and is absolutely delighted to have been offered an opportunity to resurrect his career in the top flight.

β€œIt's a great opportunity, not just for me but also all of the boys who won promotion to the Premier League," Jarrett told the official website.

"I can't wait to take my chance here and am really looking forward to the start of the season.

From day one, I could tell it was a place moving forward, right from the first conversation I had with Mr. Boothroyd. I'm really glad to be a part of helping the club to push on".

The winger added,

"I'm an out and out winger, preferably left but I'd be happy to play anywhere to get into the team – I'd even play in goal if that was what the manager wanted!”

Jarrett made a total of 25 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion during his two years at the Withdean Stadium, netting once.
