Watford has confirmed that goalkeeper, Richard Lee is back at the club after Premiership rivals, Blackburn Rovers decided against buying the player.
Lee, 23, spent the entire 2005/06 season on loan at Ewood Park without making a first team appearance for Mark Hughes' side, but is now tasked with impressing Golden Boys manager, Aidy Boothroyd who said,
“I'd like to focus on the fact that he has been in the twilight zone for the past 12 months.
But the fact he has returned to us in great fitness and with an excellent attitude is a credit to himself and his family.
Going forward I have got some great keepers in Alec Chamberlain and Scott Loach, but Richard's return can only make us stronger.
Richard is a Watford player and that means I am responsible for him, so I will fit him back into the system or help him further his career.”
However, it remains to be seen whether Lee will reclaim his first team place with many seasoned observes feeling Boothroyd may be forced to delve into the transfer market prior to the start of the Premiership campaign should Manchester United goalkeeper, Ben Foster not return to the club on loan as had originally been envisaged.
