With just five minutes on the clock, Dons skipper Keith Andrew's gave the home side an early lead at The MK Stadium but Watford equalised through summer signing Jon Harley 15 minutes into the second half.
However, Aaron Wilbraham netted for the hosts on 72 minutes to give the newly promoted League side victory.
