Watford manager, Aidy Boothroyd has strengthened his squad ahead of the club's return to pre-season training next Monday by capturing veteran Charlton Athletic defender, Chris Powell on a free transfer.
The former England International, 36, has signed a one-year contract and will be looking to add to his 700 first team appearances made during an illustrious career which includes two spells at the Valley.
The well respected South London born left back is currently serving as Chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, and his arrival bolsters a side short on Premiership experience as they bid to consolidate last season's promotion.
