Premier League predictions & preview: Gameweek 6

After a brief pause for some Carabao Cup fun, the Premier League returns this weekend and will offer up some cracking games for us to enjoy.

Title contenders Chelsea and Manchester City will look to send a message to the rest of the league when they meet early on Saturday, while the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham offers up a mouthwatering end to proceedings on Sunday.

Week six ends with a clash between bitter rivals Crystal Palace and Brighton on Monday night, which should be played out in front of a raucous Selhurst Park crowd.

Here's your all important predictions and previews.

Saturday

Chelsea vs Manchester City

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 12:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Stamford Bridge
TV channel? BT Sport (UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? BT Sport YouTube Channel, Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Michael Oliver

We get off to a huge start this weekend as two of the pre-season title favourites square off at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have climbed their way to the top of the table and do not look scared of City, having beaten them three times already since Thomas Tuchel joined the club earlier this year - including in the Champions League final.

City's inconsistency in front of goal could be a problem against the league's meanest defence, and their fitness issues could give Chelsea the upper hand.

Man Utd vs Aston Villa

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 12:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Old Trafford
TV channel? Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports- UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK - 5.15pm), Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Mike Dean
VAR? Andy Madley

Also on at the same time on Saturday is Manchester United's meeting with big-spending Aston Villa.

Both sides crashed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek but will be glad to be returning to league action, where both emerged victorious last time out.

The two teams will revert back to their strongest lineups possible, and that should mean victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.

Everton vs Norwich

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 15:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Goodison Park
TV channel? Final Score (BBC - UK), Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports - UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK - 5.15pm) Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? David Coote
VAR? Lee Mason

Everton are looking to bounce back from a crushing 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa but will have to do so without a number of key players.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Jordan Pickford and Seamus Coleman are all missing for this one, while there are also concerns about left-back Lucas Digne after he limped off in midweek.

That will stunt the Toffees' attack, but they should still have enough about them to get the win here.

Leeds vs West Ham

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 15:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Elland Road
TV channel? Final Score (BBC - UK), Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports - UK), Peacock Premium (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK - 5.15pm) Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Kevin Friend
VAR? Andre Marriner

It's a clash of styles in this one as gung-ho Leeds United will have to be wary of the potent counter threat posed by David Moyes' West Ham.

The Hammers are flying this season and will be riding a high after knocking Man Utd after the Carabao Cup, which should put the heartbreak of Mark Noble's penalty miss in the league meeting between the two sides to bed.

They'll fancy their chances against a Leeds side who are yet to put all the pieces together this season.

Leicester vs Burnley

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 15:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? King Power Stadium
TV channel? Final Score (BBC - UK), Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports - UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK - 5.15pm) Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Chris Kavanagh
VAR? Jonathan Moss

Two sides who have both endured tough starts to the new season, Leicester and Burnley will be looking to make things right when they square off on Saturday.

Leicester are winless in their last two league games but have still fared better than Burnley, who occupy a spot in the relegation zone having picked up just one point in their first five outings.

Both teams will see this as a good chance to get things going again, but Leicester should just have enough about them.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Burnley

Watford vs Newcastle

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 15:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Vicarage Road
TV channel? Final Score (BBC - UK), Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports - UK), Peacock Premium (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK - 5.15pm) Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Jarred Gillett
VAR? Craig Pawson

Another two teams who haven't had things their own way so far this season, Watford and Newcastle will duke it out for the points at Vicarage Road.

Results may not have always been ideal, but these two have both been involved in a whole load of goals (for and against) already this season and promise to put on a real corker.

Watford have the better run of results, having beaten Norwich last time out, but Newcastle's attack was enthralling in the previous round of fixtures and they will hope to use that momentum to their advantage here.

Prediction: Watford 1-2 Newcastle

Brentford vs Liverpool

When is it being played? Saturday 25 September, 17:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Brentford Community Stadium
TV channel? Sky Sports Main Event (UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK), Match of the Day (BBC - UK)
Referee? Stuart Attwell
VAR? Paul Tierney

Brentford have made a brilliant start to life in the Premier League, but they're in for the toughest test yet when Liverpool come to town.

Thomas Frank's men got themselves back to winning ways against Wolves last time out, but they'll have to be even better to stop Liverpool, who are unbeaten after five games and have conceded just one goal so far.

The newcomers should put up a decent fight, but expect Liverpool to be too strong when all is said and done.

Sunday

Southampton vs Wolves

When is it being played? Sunday 26 September, 14:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? St Mary's Stadium
TV channel? BT Sport 1 (UK), Peacock Premium (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? BT Sport YouTube Channel (UK), Match of the Day 2 (BBC - UK)
Referee? Andy Madley
VAR? Paul Tierney

15th will host 16th when Wolves make the trip to the south coast to meet Southampton in Sunday's opener.

Despite being higher up in the table, Southampton are still searching for their first win of the campaign and are on a run of four straight draws, the last two of which have both been 0-0.

Wolves, on the other hand, have lost four of their opening five games but have at least picked up three points. With both sides struggling, expect the spoils to be shared.

Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Wolves

Arsenal vs Tottenham

When is it being played? Sunday 26 September, 16:30 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Emirates Stadium
What TV channel is it on? Sky Sports Main Event (UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK), Match of the Day 2 (BBC - UK)
Referee? Craig Pawson
VAR? Stuart Attwell

It's derby season as Arsenal and Tottenham continue their legendary rivalry in Sunday's headline game.

Both sides are in pretty uninspiring form, but form almost always goes out of the window in north London derbies and these two are about as tricky to predict as any side you'll find across Europe.

These derbies always produce goals, controversy and a boatload of drama, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham

Monday

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

When is it being played? Monday 27 September, 20:00 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Selhurst Park
What TV channel is it on? Sky Sports Main Event (UK), fuboTV (US), DAZN (Canada)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube Channel (UK)
Referee? Andre Marriner
VAR? Chris Kavanagh

High-flying Brighton go in search of their fifth win of the campaign when they head to Selhurst Park to meet Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace.

Graham Potter's men have exceeded expectations so far this year, picking up four wins from five games, and they'll fancy their chances of adding three more points against a Palace side who haven't figured themselves out thus far.

Memories of their 3-0 win over Spurs were abruptly dismissed when Palace fell 3-0 to Liverpool last time out. There might not be as many goals in this one, but the visitors may edge a cagey affair.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brighton
