Taylor, 30, told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We've got to keep our feet on the ground completely, in the Championship consistency is massive.
"We've got to remain strong, make sure we don't get beat and see where it takes us from there."
The 3-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday means the Hornets are unbeaten in their last four outings, but the result was Malky Mackay's side's first victory at Vicarage road this season.

"We've had a couple of disappointments at home, we'll hopefully march on from here," Taylor added.
"There's a lot of belief up there in the forward lads which gives everyone in the team a lot of confidence.
"We know we're playing well but we need to continue it. We've got two more games before the international break and hopefully we can get as many points as possible out of them."
Watford host Swansea on Tuesday before heading to Sheffield United at the weekend.
