Watford Football Club has today revealed a trading deficit of £463, 345 for the six months ended December 31, 2005.

However, with Aidy Boothroyd's team pushing hard for automatic promotion to the Premiership, Chairman Graham Simpson remained positive things will soon be as buoyant off the pitch as they are on it,

"I remain confident that the progress we are making on all fronts will lead to an increasingly successful football team, vastly improved facilities for our supporters and our local community - and return the club to profit."

The sums represent a small increase in the 2004 figures based on a £4.77million turnover, as against £4.45million for the same period in the previous year.
