West Ham United Res 0 Watford Res 3

Last updated : 05 April 2006 By Gary Calder

Watford's reserve side returned to winning ways in style last night with a convincing three goal success over a youthful West Ham United at the Glyn Hopkin Stadium, home of Nationwide Conference National club, Dagenham & Redbridge.

Gary Smith's nice blend of youth and experience were in the ascendancy from the off on a freezing night in East London, and deservedly took the lead midway through the first half.

17-year-old Theo Robinson, partnering Joel Grant in attack had an effort blocked by Hammers' goalkeeper, Eren Kemal, and from the resultant corner taken by Anthony McNamee, Clarke Carlisle headed home.

The pace of Watford's front men had been troubling the hosts all evening and the visitors managed to double their lead on the hour when Alex Campana fired home from 18 yards.

Five minutes later the Golden Boys added a third when Ben Gill smashed home a left foot drive past a despairing Kemal to complete a comfortable victory which sees Watford move up into 11th place in the Barclays Premiership Reserve League South.
