Young and King recognised by peers

Watford‘s Ashley Young and Marlon King have capped fantastic personal campaign's for themselves and the club, by being named in the Championship Team of the season at the Professional Footballers' Association awards ceremony held in London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday evening.

Young, whose stunning strike at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday took his season's tally to 14 is joined by the Championship's leading goalscorer, King in the side that features five Reading players.

With the Champions losing just twice all season it was no surprise that Marcus Hahnemann, Ibrahima Sonko, Nicky Shorey, Steve Sidwell and Kevin Doyle all of whom have contributed significantly to the Royals stunning Championship success deservedly earned recognition amongst their peers by being named.

Talented Wolverhampton Wanders defender Joleon Lescott, rumoured to be Premiership bound in the summer was also included, together with Jason Koumas of Cardiff City, Sheffield United's Phil Jagielka and Gary Kelly of Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's 25-year-old Steven Gerrard collected the prestigious Player of the Year honour, and Wayne Rooney the Young Player Award for the second consecutive season.
