"You can't win on these sort of afternoons to be honest. If you win, people say 'well, you should do, you're a Premiership side' and if you lose you're on a hiding to nothing.
But I was pleased with the result, and the players deserve credit for the way they performed after going a goal down.
The weather didn't help early on, it's always a great leveller and I think it showed.
But credit where credit's due to Stockport, they were more organised than many Premiership sides we've seen this season, and do things that we haven't seen other sides do.”
Commenting on the performance of new signing, Moses Ashikodi, who capped a fine performance with a debut goal Boothroyd added,
"Moses will always be a nuisance for defenders, because he looks to play on their shoulders.
He scored a goal that most players would not have bothered chasing down, but he did and got his reward.
It is good to get four goals. We took our chances, and hopefully this can push us on to win games in the second half of the season."
